Management consulting for owner-led businesses

Stability
Before Scale.

Helping owner-led manufacturing and engineering businesses strengthen execution, protect profitability and grow without losing control.

I work alongside business owners to identify where cash, time and capacity are being lost, establish clearer accountability, and build an operating rhythm the organisation can sustain.

The real testOperational complexity, pressure on the owner, and readiness to act

The point of intervention

The business is growing.
The operating system has not caught up.

Margins are under pressure, but the cause is spread across functions.

The owner remains the centre of too many decisions.

Teams are busy, yet important priorities do not move reliably.

Growth is adding complexity faster than capability.

How I help

Focused work.
Practical outcomes.

Every engagement begins with honest diagnosis and has a defined outcome. The aim is to leave the business stronger—not dependent on a consultant.

01

Focused Business Assessment

See the whole system before fixing one part.

A structured diagnostic of strategy, operations, cash and leadership—ending in a clear view of what is holding the business back and what to do first.

02

Stability & Execution Programme

Turn priorities into a repeatable operating rhythm.

I work alongside the owner and leadership team, usually through an initial 90-day phase, to reduce leakage, strengthen accountability and make execution more dependable.

03

Leadership Advisory

A practical thinking partner for consequential decisions.

Focused support for owners navigating growth, turnaround, organisation design or a difficult transition—with a defined cadence and no retainer drift.

The CLEAR framework

Diagnose the system.
Stabilise execution.
Build for what comes next.

CLEAR is a disciplined way to move from ambiguity to sustained change. It guides the work without forcing a generic playbook onto your business.

C

Current state

Understand the business as it is, not as the reports suggest.

L

Leakage

Find where cash, time, capacity
and customer trust are being lost.

E

Execution rhythm

Build routines that turn priorities into consistent action.

A

Accountability

Clarify ownership, decisions and the measures that matter.

R

Review & recovery

Learn quickly, correct course and make the change stick.

About Rahul Jain

I have worked on the operator’s side of the table—and stayed for the implementation.

Rahul Jain is a graduate mechanical engineer with more than three decades of experience across manufacturing, operations, sales and business leadership in India and international markets.

He has led businesses through growth, turnaround and complex stakeholder situations. That experience shapes a practical approach: establish the truth, understand the full system, and stay close enough to execution for the change to hold.

Rahul is an alumnus of IIM Bangalore and is also open to selected university teaching and mentoring engagements.

Selected transformation experience

Real work in difficult conditions.

These stories are drawn from Rahul’s prior executive experience. Identifying details have been generalised.

01 / Business transformation

From an under-resourced unit to nearly 3× its earlier size.

Given five people against an expected team of 22, Rahul began with diagnosis—not a strategy deck. Evidence revealed many connected points of drift. Systematic fixes across sourcing, product design, pricing and distribution created a durable growth path.

Nearly 3× growth over five years
02 / Project recovery

Turning a contractual standoff back into a working relationship.

After multiple managers and 18 months of instability, trust had collapsed. A single communication channel, consistent presence and direct stakeholder conversations helped bring a key contractor back, unlock payments and reach settlement.

Commercial resolution with dignity intact

Field notes

Insights from the work.

Operations

When automation is solving the wrong problem

A business can invest in speed while cash remains trapped in the system. Start with the flow of work and money.

Strategy

How a smaller company competes with giants

Not through scale, but by understanding the customer more closely and responding with less friction.

Profitability

Healthy gross margin. Almost no net margin.

The invisible cost of weak operating discipline—and why the answer begins below headline numbers.
